How to shift your publishing choices towards publishing in more sustainable/ethical venues:

A flowchart asking the question whether the journal is 100% open access, and whether the publisher is for-profit or non-profit. You should publish in the venue if it is open access and ideally the publisher should be non-profit. The APC should reflect the actual costs, but ideally be not existing because publishing fees come with inequalities. You should choose the CC-BY-4.0 license, make use of open peer review, and choose a journal that does not select articles based on subjective impact.
