This post highlights several Excel functionalities:
Sparklines allow you to insert miniature graphs inside an individual cell to easily visualize data.
Select range
Insert ⇢ Sparkline
Choose type
The People Graph add-on allows you to create an infographic with pictures of humans (great for survey data!).
Create drop down lists to ensure correct data entry.
Flash Fill automatically fills your data when it senses a pattern (example: separate first and last names from a single column).
Consolidate data from multiple tabs. If you create links to the source data the consolidation tab will update automatically!
Highlight patterns with conditional formatting. You can add data bars, heat maps to highlight trends.
Use Format Painter to quickly apply the same formatting (color, font style, size) to multiple pieces of text or graphics
Select the cells you’d like to copy
Click the paintbrush
Select where you want the formatting to go.
Camera Snapshot allows you to select data and link it as a picture. When you update the workbook, the data in the picture will also update!
Insert -> table allows extra functionalities for tables.
For example, Slicer allows you to filter data:
Click anywhere inside a table
Go to table ⇢ insert slicer
Select the fields you want
A dialog box will appear: Click any slicer button to filter the data
