3 Open Science things you can do right now

  1. Sign up for an ORCID
    • ORCID is an open, independent and persistent identifier that helps distinguish the author of scholarly work. You can use your ORCID to share your information with other systems, ensuring you get recognition for all your contributions.
  2. Learn more about Open Science:
  3. Use the CRediT taxonomy to record contributions to research outputs
    • You can use CRediT to describe each contributor’s specific contribution to the scholarly output.

When Open Science seems overwhelming, keep in mind that you can take a buffet approach:

  • Buffet rule 1: You might not be able to try everything

  • Buffet rule 2: You don’t have to try everything at once

  • Buffet rule 3: Label everything (documentation is key!)
